Jenice Pizzuto is a career educator with over twenty years of experience as a teacher, instructional coach, administrator, district leader, RTI implementation coach, professional learning facilitator and consultant. Jenice currently serves on the Oregon Response to Instruction and Intervention, ORTIi team as an implementation coach. ORTIi provides technical assistance to Oregon school districts implementing Response to Intervention (RTI) systems that provide targeted, effective instruction to meet the needs of all students and provide the framework to identify students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD). The focus of the project is on literacy, early intervention, and the use of evidenced-based practices. Jenice consults with and serves school districts, superintendents, administrators and teacher leaders in implementing evidence-based practices tied to improving student performance. She has worked closely with highly impacted urban districts with two-way immersion and dual language schools, school districts with over 76 languages and high levels of economically disadvantaged student populations. Schools and districts that have worked with Jenice and ORTIi have reduced their percentage of students at risk and increased the number of students at benchmark. Supporting districts and schools to positively impact traditionally underserved populations is her passion. Jenice and her team at ORTIi continuously review emerging research and collaborate with researchers and implementers in order to support districts in implementing evidence-based practices that reduce predictable student achievement gaps.
